七大工業國集團(G7)首腦峰會周四(26日)在日本三重縣揭幕，日本首相安倍晉三在峰會上發表危言，指目前全球經濟類似2008年雷曼兄弟破產引爆金融海嘯前的情況，呼籲G7領袖協調因應。不過，似乎並非所有與會國領袖都贊同他的觀點，指他措辭過強。
《星島日報》報導，在G7首腦峰會與會的各國元首，昨日下午討論促使世界經濟持續成長的對策。安倍指世界經濟正處在分岔點，必須認識到若政策應對有誤，就會有陷入危機的風險。他並再提出結構改革與財政刺激之重要。
安倍又表示，在2008年金融海嘯發生前不久，G7在北海道洞爺湖召開，但當時沒能防止後來金融危機的發生，現在不想重蹈覆轍。
日本放送協會(NHK)報導，17life bumkinsG7與會國領袖對於世界經濟的現況大致上意見一致，但有部分領袖指出安倍提到「危機」一詞，可能措辭過強。
安倍表示，國際貨幣基金會(IMF)資料顯示，食品、材料等全球商品價格，在2014年6月至2016年1月間大跌55%，跌幅與2008年7月至2009年2月間相同，當時雷曼兄弟破產引爆全球金融危機。
不過，《日經新聞》指，安倍向G7領袖提出雷曼兄弟等級的金融危機警告，無異是為再度推遲調高全國性銷售稅，提供一個潛在合理的理由。
安倍曾誓言，除非爆發雷曼兄弟等級的金融危機，或者發生重大天災，否則將依既定照原來計畫，在明(2017)年4月提高銷售稅，由8%提高至10%。
香港《文匯報》綜合外電消息，美國總統歐巴馬在記者會上強調，要制止貨幣競貶的舉動，暗批日本打算藉此刺激出口，又表示「同意讓每個國家根據其需要及能力，採取加速經濟增長的措施」。
歐巴馬續指，現時最重要不只是讓失業者重投職場，還有加薪及維持經濟復甦動力。德國總理默克爾亦表示，雖然現時有穩定增長跡象，但全球經濟風險仍存，不容忽視。
